works great.
a little taller than I thought but it's great
wompwompwomp August 14, 2010 B@SSJunkie The sub performs beautifully under heavy bass load, especially once its broken in. I have the sub in a small room (12x15), so it fills it pretty nicely. If you're not near the opposing corner from the sub then the bass isn't tremendously powerful but its presence is definitely still there. The box feels substantial and looks good, it doesn't feel cheap. Overall I'm impressed and pleased with the purchase. Its a great deal and adds a lot to your sound pallet.
Great Sound for the price August 10, 2010 Jonathan Harrison (Virginia) I got this sub from Onkyo 7.1 surround sound speakers. I would recommend this for sub for anyone looking for good sound with out braking the bank. The whole setup sounds great! I highly recommend getting a nice high quality cable to connect the sub to your receiver. The one that came with mine wasn't long enough for me to use plus it wasn't well shielded where I did notice some interference with other cables near it.
This has plenty of power for using it in large rooms. Great Sound with out Distortion with my Yamaha RX1700 Receiver.
After reading some of the other reviews I see some people mention rattling but I have not had it happen with this one.
OLD Audiophile July 25, 2010 Larry Wolford (Washington State) Just a a note about the Onkyo SKW-204: The factory has choosen the dubious "Dynamic" power rating. Using the old engineer's "rule of thumb:" 60% of input power for the true RMS output power, I would guess this is really about 80 watts RMS. But this is a good low powered sub for acoustical music. I have the Polk PSW10 in another room, which I also use for acoustical music and consider it a better $$ deal. Remembering that it takes 10 times the power to produce a doubling of sound pressure(10 decibles), I would consider the Polk too. Neither sub will give you an "F-18 Hornet 'Fly by' with the after burner on" in a large room, but it is still an XLNT low powered sub. ENJOY !!
poorhows June 14, 2010 Donald M. Wilsn Jr. After my JBL 250 watt took a dive I decided to try this Onkyo since I have an Onkyo receiver. Best chance I ever took. My room is 18 x 25 and the woofer doesn't have a problem... Highly recommend.
