Product Description
Feel the power of 180 amplified watts of pure bass. The SA-W3000 performance line subwoofer makes music come alive and elevates the movie-watching experience to theater-like levels. For cinematic effects, crank up the bass level and let the 12" mica-reinforced cellular woofer do the rest.

5 out of 5 stars epic sub is epic   August 24, 2010

This is the only home theater subwoofer i have purchased, and if in need another one, would buy the same thing. The adjustable frequency knob on the back is helpful as it can output at different levels for different sized front left and right speakers. it does well for all types of music, and can rattle the walls if i so choose during a movie. there isnt anything i dont like about it. the power saving feature is convenient unless there is a louder moment during a quiet scene of a show or movie when it can be heard turning on and off. i highly recommend this to anyone.

1 out of 5 stars Fine when it worked!   August 14, 2010

When I first purchased it I was pleased with the sound this unit put out, especially for the price. Within a year, however, the power amplifier went out and I had to have it replaced...not an expensive piece of equipment, but definitely a job for a person with electronics experience. Exactly a year later the same thing happened! At this point I'm in the market for a new subwoofer and will be more mindful of the old adage that "you get what you pay for".

5 out of 5 stars Great item for good quality sound   August 3, 2010
David A. Thigpen (Atlanta, GA)
This is a good speaker that packs quite a punch. I have a 2-story house and the neighbors aren't that close but this speaker packs such a punch that I have it turned way down typically to about 30%. If you turn it up to 50% you will think you are in the movie theatre. 100% will scare the living daylights out of you if you are watching a suspenseful movie. Two thumbs up.

I purchased the same subwoofer a few years ago and really liked it. This new model can't be turned up, the knobs are to the max and it is just noticeable that I have a subwoofer. I read reviews and people said it would shake the windows. After I got it I looked at reviews and someone said they had the same problem and sent it back thinking it was defective and the new one was the same way. I have tweeked the settings on the stereo and no difference. The sound is good you just can't turn it up for more bass.

4 out of 5 stars Great Sub.   July 2, 2010

Ok first of, this subwoofer's amp is a bit too powerful for the speaker. I bought this because it has better power handling than the SAW 2500. But this one goes into distortion be4 the SAW 2500. Usually the volume level is a bit higher for the SAW 2500 because i want a blend instead of a massacre. But My SAW 3000 distorts sound alot. Dont get me wrong, its loud and deep. I like it too. I have ran so many test on this thing and it beats the SAW 2500 by far. 20Hz is VERY quiet when being played through this speaker. but atleast it's there. Bottom line, ur making a great investment in a subwoofer. this is the most i have ever paid for a subwoofer. Maybe one day i can have something buy Def. Tech. I'm checking out BIC AMERICA at the moment. But for now this Sony is rockin my house to peices.
